Bassin Adventures – Lake Guntersville, Alabama bass guide service. Lake Guntersville is one of the countries top bass fisheries. Not only can you catch a bunch of fish here, but giants as well! Bassin Adventures is the home of Northern Alabama’s top instructional bass guide, Capt. Jim Burks.
My mission statement is simple. I want to provide anglers an opportunity to learn for advanced and beginning bass fishermen and do this while having a safe and fun time on the lake.
Come fish where the big boys like to play and catch lots of big bass.
The 2009 Bassmaster Elite Series Southern Challenge did just that here on Lake Guntersville, AL, May 7-10, 2009 when Aaron Martens weighed in a four day – 20 fish limit that crushed the scales at 107 lbs. 8oz.
Consider this your open invitation to leave your stress at the dock and join me for a day of fishing.
We will accommodate groups of any size and skill level.
Active merchant marine “USCG” license.
I serve as a board member and a Sunday school teacher in my local church Victory Baptist of Guntersville, AL.
About Capt. Jim:
I have dedicated my life to the sport of fishing, and to the preservation of our resources so that we may all continue to benefit from our natural outdoors. I have loved the outdoors all my life and grew up fishing my local area lakes like Wheeler, Guntersville, Weiss, Pickwick and Neely Henry. I have a merchant marine “USCG” license.
Jim Burks continues to fish these lakes and considers Lake Guntersville to be his specialty. His best bass came from Guntersville a giant 11lb 2oz largemouth.
I fish Guntersville Lake 4 to 6 days per week all year round. This gives me a chance to really keep in touch with the fish migrations.
Give me a call and we’ll begin one of your Bass Fishing Adventures.
Statement of Faith:
My first thanks is to our Lord for blessing me with the chance to live my dream.
What is provided:
Bassin Adventures provides everything needed for a full day trip on the water, including tackle, rods and reels. There are stores on the water if needed. You may choose to bring rods/reels you are comfortable with, and some tackle of your own. I carry all the current baits so there’s no need to bring much in the way of tackle.
I do not charge extra for the use of my gear. You should plan to bring rain gear, even if rain is not predicted, and bring plenty of clothing if the weather is cool or cold.
Licenses are available at the launch sites, by phone or on-line. Click Here for Fishing License information. We are checked on the water from time to time by both wardens and the marine police. Licenses are the responsibility of the customer. At this time, guides are not allowed to sell licenses, or allow people to fish under a single guide license.
Bassin Adventures provides life vests, and all legally required equipment on board. If you have special needs, special dietary requirements, or special medical conditions, let me know and we’ll work out the details to make sure we have what we need for the trip.
Where to Meet:
A Meeting place will be specified with respect to which lake and predicted weather. It is important to contact me two or three days prior to the trip in order to finalize all plans, and discuss any weather or river related changes for your trip.
Usually trips begin at safe light depending on weather. Exchanging cell phone numbers is a good idea in the event something happens during travel to our pre determined meeting place.
Normally I give directions to the launch site and we begin and end at that location.
Lightning or severe winds and rain can sometimes be a problem. If possible, we will wait out passing severe weather in the bait shop or other shelter. If the severe weather is prolonged, other arrangements must be made, rescheduling, etc.
Safety is priority one.
A Deposit of $100.00 is required to secure a Bassin Adventures trip date. Final payment is Due upon completion on the scheduled Adventure.
I accept cash or check or money Order after trip is finished.
